Description:

The McLain Group represents a client, a leader in the commercial nuclear power industry, with an immediate need for a Manager-Project Construction.   The Manager-Project Construction manages the project installation resources for the preparation and installation of strategic projects. This position is responsible for ensuring installation resources for strategic projects, such that projects are delivered with the expected performance in the areas of Safety, Quality, Scope, Schedule, and Cost.  Our client offers an excellent compensation and benefits package.

Responsibilities:

- Provide direction to project installation personnel regarding duties for strategic projects.

-Provide installation information for preparation of Order-of-Magnitude, Budgetary, and Definitive Project Cost Estimates for potential projects in supporting Business Case development and for approved projects.

-Develop and maintain assigned procedures governing strategic project installation.

-Ensure that projects installation positions are staffed with trained and qualified personnel to fulfill their respective job functions.

-Provide objective performance information to support monthly performance reporting.

-Ensure project installation personnel demonstrate effective use of Human Performance (HU) tools and perform error free installation activities, as expected.

-Provide contract administration support for the project managers.

-Review prepared work orders in support of project installation activities to ensure their accuracy and achievability.

-Ensure the project installation staff is in compliance with procedural requirements and management expectations.

-Manage the necessary change associated with the establishment of processes that meet excellence standards contained in INPO 09-002, Excellence in Nuclear Project Management.

-Perform other duties as assigned by supervision/management.

Requirements:

BS degree in engineering or construction management and 15 years relevant experience, or a MS degree in engineering or construction management and 13 years relevant experience, or a PhD degree in engineering or construction management and 11 years relevant experience.

This position requires demonstrated leadership capability in construction management/project management with at least 10 years of nuclear construction/project management experience.

Project Management Professional (PMP) is desired.
