Description:

The McLain Group represents a client, a leader in the commercial nuclear power industry, with an immediate need for a Manager-Strategic Projects.   The Manager-Strategic Projects manages and oversees project managers assigned to strategic projects. This position is responsible for ensuring that strategic projects are delivered with the expected quality and in accordance with the project schedule.  Our client offers an excellent compensation and benefits package.

Responsibilities:

-Provide direction to project managers regarding duties in managing strategic projects.

-Provide project management input for the preparation of Order-of-Magnitude, Budgetary, and Definitive Project Cost Estimates.

-Develop and maintain assigned procedures governing strategic project management.

-Ensure that assigned projects meet the expected quality requirements.

-Ensure that assigned projects meet the expected schedule for deliverables.

-Ensure that projects are staffed with trained and qualified personnel to fulfill their respective job functions.

-Provide objective performance information to support monthly performance reporting.

-Ensure that project managers comply with procedural requirements and management expectations.

-Manage the necessary change associated with the establishment of processes the meet excellence standards contained in INPO 09-002, Excellence in Nuclear Project Management.

-Perform other duties as assigned by supervision/management.

Requirements:

BS degree in engineering or technical science and 15 years relevant experience, or a MS degree in engineering or technical science and 13 years relevant experience, or a PhD degree in engineering or technical science and 11 years relevant experience.

This position should have demonstrated leadership capability in project management with at least 10 years of nuclear project management experience.

Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute is required within 12 months of fulfilling this position.
