Description:

The McLain Group represents a client, a leader in the commercial nuclear power industry, with an immediate need for a Manager-Project Engineering.   The Manager-Project Engineering manages strategic project engineering activities and oversees personnel providing strategic project engineering support.  Responsible for ensuring that strategic project engineering products are delivered with the expected quality and schedule.  This position is the company’s most senior Strategic Projects Engineering position.  Our client offers an excellent compensation and benefits package.

Responsibilities:

-Provide direction to discipline engineers and supervisors regarding engineering for strategic projects.

-Provide specific engineering input for the preparation of Order-of-Magnitude, Budgetary, and Definitive Project Cost Estimates.

-Develop and maintain assigned procedures governing strategic project engineering work expectations.

-Ensure that the engineering products meet the expected quality requirements.

-Ensure that the engineering products meet the expected schedule for deliverables.

-Ensure that project engineering is staffed with trained and qualified personnel to fulfill their respective job functions.

-Provide objective performance information to support monthly performance reporting.

-Ensure that Strategic Project Engineering staff complies with procedural requirements and management expectations.

-Manage the necessary change associated with the establishment of processes the meet excellence standards contained in INPO 09-002, Excellence in Nuclear Project Management.

-Perform other duties as assigned by supervision/management.

Requirements:

BS degree in engineering and 15 years relevant experience, or a MS degree in engineering and 13 years relevant experience, or a PhD degree in engineering and 11 years relevant experience.  Relevant experience is defined as work in the engineering field of a nuclear power generating facility.

Professional Engineering License is required.
