Description:

The McLain Group represents a client, a leader in the nuclear power industry, seeking a Fukushima Lead Project Manager.  This individual will be responsible for coordinating the efforts of vendors and nuclear power plant personnel in all aspects of the plant’s response to Lessons Learned from the Events at Fukushima. This includes seismic and flooding re-analyses, spent fuel pool level instrumentation and development and implementation of plant mitigating strategies.  Will also be part of the response team for development of documentation for external agencies as requested.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible specifically for implementation of the orders and requests for information relating to the events of Fukushima for beyond design basis events.
  • Participate as representative in corporate sponsored initiatives related to the project.
  • Develop project plans, including schedules, resource requirements, milestones, and performance indicators.
  • Provide timely reports to senior management and the station on the status of the project and progress on project goals.
  • Prepare and administer budget plans.
  • Manage project budget of significant cost, high risk and significant stakeholder visibility.
  • Manage processes to ensure project includes all work required to include: initiation, scope planning, scope verification, scope change.
  • Support and participate in the Emergency Plan Organization and Corrective Action Program activities as assigned, and in accordance with procedures and policies applicable for the assigned role.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors in Engineering or related technical field, or equivalent education and or experience.
  • Ten (10) years commercial nuclear power experience.
  • Demonstrated ability in project management.

Desired:

  • Project Management Certification.
  • Developmental work in project management.
  • PWR operating experience or similar integrated plant knowledge.
  • Ability to write clear, concise reports and make presentations to higher management.
  • Ability to direct and motivate a diverse, matrixed workforce.
