Description:

The McLain Group represents a client with an immediate need for a commercial nuclear power plant assistant operations manager.  Our client is a leading provider of nuclear generated electrical power and offers competitive compensation, excellent benefits and promotes the development and success of their employees.

Responsibilities:

The assistant operations manager provides support to the nuclear operations manager directing and managing day-to-day safe, reliable plant operations.  Ensures that activities are being conducted in accordance with facility programs, standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements.  The assistant operations manager will focus on departmental assessment (self-evaluation, performance monitoring, etc.), procedure development, and training for operations personnel and ensuring that shifts are fully staffed.  The assistant operations manager will participate on appropriate station committees, as required.

Requirements:

Prior Senior Reactor Operator license required.  Bachelor’s degree preferred in Engineering with 8-10 years of nuclear plant operations experience.  Past military experience a plus.  Candidate must possess strong command and control skills; clear, concise communications; strong focus on human performance improvement and corrective action; ability to work in cooperation with multiple departments to ensure safe plant operations.
