The McLain Group represents a client, a leader in the commercial nuclear power industry, with an immediate need for a nuclear power plant Manager of Engineering – Project Management in the Southeast. This individual provides leadership and direction in the Project Management Group, which is primarily focused on providing necessary project management oversight to ensure successful completion of major and graded modifications to meet station’s needs and commitments using the appropriate department and site processes/programs as well as providing leadership support for project management functions that are not specific to any one engineering group or section at the sites .  Equipment Reliability program interface.

The Engineering Project Management Manager will oversee the development and maintenance of all the above listed programs and responsibilities for the site Engineering organization as well as providing visionary leadership, initiating or facilitating change and implementing improved processes.  Due to the nature of these responsibilities, it is inherent that the Engineering Project Management Section has a close working relationship with all other engineering sections at the site as well as in Engineering Corporate groups.

Also provides oversight to ensure that projects are completed safely, with quality and on schedule by qualified individuals.   Ensure appropriate engineering rigor is applied to and regulatory requirements are met where applicable.   Provide effective organizational and personnel administration for the Engineering Project Management and Support Section.   Develop direct reports to fully develop their potential and skills.



Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Non Technology) from ABET accredited university and 5-7 years of experience in an operating nuclear station or related role. Relevant experience with project management and project controls.  An understanding of engineering programs, processes, equipment, and/or support processes such as cause analysis, corrective action program, assessments, etc.

Experience with business management and the budget process.  Demonstrated Leadership Skills.

Demonstrated ability to meet commitments while managing multiple objectives and projects.


8 + Years of experience in an operating nuclear station or related role.  Previous supervisory or leadership experience.  PMP certification or demonstrated ability to complete within 1 year of hire date.  Professional Engineer or Previous nuclear SRO license or certification or advanced degree.Demonstrated proficiency with many of the following programs/processes: PIP, cause analysis, Engineering HU, Equipment Reliability, Maintenance Rule, outage and on-line scheduling, EWM, Engineering budget.  Demonstrated Leadership Skills.  Demonstrated ability to work effectively with multiple organizations to achieve desired objectives, using the appropriate department and site processes/programs.  Self-motivated and able to motivate organization to complete activities with minimal management involvement.  Demonstrated ability to work within a defined cost structure.Demonstrated ability to translate broad site objectives to specific job functions (nuclear/personnel safety, equipment reliability, production, human performance, cost-effectiveness, regulatory compliance).
