Description:

The McLain Group represents a client, a leader in the commercial nuclear power industry, with an immediate need for a nuclear power plant Manager, Nuclear Engineer – Electrical / I&C Systems in the Southeast. Responsibilities:

Provide supervisory oversight for the electrical I instrumentation & control systems engineering subunit to ensure proper technical rigor is applied to engineering product  deliverables and requests for engineering assistance in daily plant operation .  This group is responsible for system trending and monitoring, Corrective Action Program implementation, and developing and implementing strategic plans to improve system health and eliminate equipment obsolescence. Interface directly with plant operations   and maintenance personnel for both scheduled maintenance activities and emergent issues in support of safe, reliable plant operation. Provide leadership to maintain subunit work management backlog less than established goals. Participate in the   engineering curriculum review committee for generic and position specific training requirements.  This includes monitoring staff performance for Gap identification in knowledge or execution of work and providing input for corrective actions. Provide supervisory oversight for administrative activities such as: identifying required training for assigned personnel and overseeing completion, administering personnel performance reviews and assist with staff personnel career development.  Also assigned a position on the station’s Emergency Response Organization.

 

Requirements:

Bachelor’s of Science in Engineering from a four year accredited college or university and 5 years of job related experience in either electrical or instrumentation and control, of which a minimum of 6 months should be in nuclear instrumentation and control.  A minimum of 2 years of this 5 years’ experience should be related technical training.  Related technical or academic training may fulfill a maximum of 4 years of this 5 years’ experience.

 

Desired:

Engineering degree discipline (Electrical or Computer Engineer), Post – Bachelor’s degree (ex. Masters).
