Description:

The McLain Group represents a client, a supplier and fabricator in the commercial nuclear power industry, with an immediate need for a Project Engineer. Our client offers competitive compensation, excellent benefits and promotes the development and success of their employees.

 The Project Engineer coordinates customer contract requirements with internal and external organizations to create top quality custom fabricated componentry used in the Nuclear Power Industry.

Responsibilities:

-Review of customer source control drawings, specification control drawings and other applicable specifications to determine critical to quality requirements and overall manufacturing feasibility of the component.

-Develop business cases and schedules to assist the sales organization as required.

-Prepare input parameters for preliminary design and contract proposals.

-Coordinate with internal organizations to define and solve manufacturing and design issues to meet customer requirements.

-Manage and build current bill of materials and shop work instructions.

-Work with the Quality department to define problem areas and develop process/product improvements based on customer concerns.

-Participate in engineering and general design review of nuclear projects.

-Refine and complete component designs after design review meetings.

-Prepare and review technical data such as qualification test procedures, design specifications, shop calculations, acceptance test procedures, reports, component non-conformances, etc.

-Interact with the customer to develop accurate engineering design documents and resolve any questions/concerns they may have.

-Create and review design and shop manufacturing drawing packages instrumental in fabricating custom nuclear components.

-Support the operations throughout the fabrication process by interacting with shop personnel and answering any questions in a timely manner.

-Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions.

-Employee may work near moving mechanical parts.

-Employee will be exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, fumes and odors.

 

Requirements:

-Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. -1-5 years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

-A passion to begin a career in the unique Nuclear Power Industry.

-Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents of a technical nature.

-Ability to respond effectively to customer inquiries or complaints.

-Able to use and understand computer assisted drafting (CAD) equipment and software. AutoDesk Inventor preferred.

-Able to apply Engineering and Manufacturing principles to a wide range of applications.

-Demonstrated ability to lead people and get results.

-Ability to organize and manage multiple projects of varying complexity.

-Participate in employee training exercises and skills development opportunities.

-Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

-Strong team player and able to work with a diverse group of people.
