The McLain Group represents a client with an immediate need for an Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation (ISFSI) Manager. The ISFSI Manager reports to the Director of Operations and manages the daily activities, operations, and security of the ISFSI.

  • Manage the daily operations of the ISFSI, including all staff and contract activities.  Ensure that sufficient qualified staff is on site at all times to perform required tasks, including operations, maintenance and specialized activities.
  • Ensure all ISFSI-related activities are performed in compliance with 10CFR Part 50 license and applicable Federal and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Retain overall responsibility for execution of administrative controls and QA Program applicable to ISFSI.  Ensure that Corrective Action (CA) program is in place and effective in addressing ISFSI conditions.
  • Perform independent safety reviews per 10CFR Part 50 license.  Provide for other technical audits as required by tech spec, regulation, or good business practice.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of regulatory requirements and assure that all activities provide for the safety of the ISFSI and public in compliance with these requirements.
  • Maintain a training program in conformance with 10CFR Part 120 that will assure a staff capable of safely and efficiently performing their duties in accordance with established practices, procedures and regulations.
  • Overall responsibility for the implementation of the Site Emergency Plan.
  • Fulfill all other responsibilities common to all supervisory positions and carry out other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned.
  • Provide for management of the information technology systems.
  • Review and approve procurement requests.
  • Provide oversight of the Records Management System and document control activities.
  • As necessary, prepare changes to ISFSI licensing documents and implementing procedures; perform safety analyses to ensure safe and compliant operations.
  • Establish and maintain procedures, policies and controls to meet all regulatory requirements and commitments.
  • Establish and maintain open communications with Federal, State and Local officials and the public to ensure constructive and efficient relationships with stakeholders.
  • Work collaboratively with all sites to drive consistent performance.


  • 10 years industrial/power plant experience of which 3 years shall be nuclear power plant experience
  • 7 years in a managerial position
  • Experience interfacing with regulators, including Federal and State
  • Experience managing vendors, contractors and oversight of contracts
  • Knowledge of security systems and procedures at industrial/nuclear facilities
  • Knowledge of Health Physics/Radiological program, requirements and implementation
  • Familiarity with industrial safety programs
