Description:

The Nuclear Power Plant Maintenance Support integrates maintenance services and site project activities into plant operations to ensure safe and reliable cost efficient operation.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides organizational guidance, direction, leadership, and planning for all maintenance services and site project activities.  Provides overall direction, planning and performance of Maintenance services departmental cost activities to ensure achievement of budget goals. Identifies Maintenance services departmental training needs, contract support, budget needs, and provides oversight for departmental corrective action, training, and work activities.
  • Fosters an environment of continuous improvement in Human Performance, Industrial Safety and Radiological performance.
  • Ensures proper selection, training and qualification of personnel including exposure to other departments. Provides and maintains administrative systems and procedures to effectively execute and document activities in accordance with company policies, and goals and in accordance with all pertinent regulations, permits, licenses, and the quality assurance program.
  • Directs changes in equipment, procedures, and operations as necessary to achieve optimum plant and personnel performance. Coordinates activities with other departments to minimize plant downtime and maximize power generation.
  • Controls departmental cost through maximization of staff productivity, review of union contracts, and tracking expenditures within budget parameters. Routinely reviews plant facilities. May represent the department at plant meetings to discuss and resolve matters effecting nuclear plant safety, industrial safety, radiological safety, and environmental conditions.
  • May interface with regulatory and industry representatives on behalf of station activities.

Requirements:

  • B.S. in Education, Engineering, or a related technical degree or equivalent experience. (Equivalent experience is defined as demonstrated success at the Superintendent level).
  • 6 years of commercial nuclear power plant operations, maintenance, engineering, or security experience in the related discipline.  Technical proficiency in modification installation. 2 years previous supervisory experience.8 years’ experience in nuclear power design, construction, maintenance, operations, radiation protection, production, or equivalent. 5 years supervisory/management experience. 5 years experience in the Maintenance department.

 

Any certificates, licenses, etc. required for the position

Candidates must meet or exceed ANSI/ANS 3.11978.  ANSI Section 4.3.2 Supervisors Not Requiring NRC Licenses. High School Diploma or equivalent. 4 years of experience in craft or discipline he/she supervises.

Desired:

  • Experience with supervising union contract employees (desired).
  • SRO license or certification on BWR, PWR or both.
