Description:

The McLain Group represents a client, a leader in the commercial nuclear power industry, with an immediate need for a Nuclear Power Plant Maintenance Manager.  The Nuclear Power Plant Maintenance Manager is responsible for providing overall management and supervision to a largely diverse organization of 100 represented and non-represented employees. Through direction of all maintenance activities, ensures optimum plant availability and safe operation of the station. Ensures that all work performed is in accordance with all applicable regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of nuclear plant activities utilizing Superintendents and Supervisors ensuring efficient, safe and reliable plant operation per the operating license.
  • Manages costs within approved budget and continuously strives for additional effectiveness and methods to control costs and reduce budget on an annual basis.
  • Promote and strictly enforce procedure adherence and safety.
  • Maintains accredited training program in accordance with the guidelines set forth by the National Academy of Nuclear Training, ensuring workforce is maintained and properly trained.
  • Develops programs and practices that instill in personnel the highest standards of performance and attention to detail.
  • Administers the functions of the Union Agreement and enforces corporate and plant policies for the maintenance section, including any disciplinary actions.
  • Cognizant of industry standards, continuously striving for “Best in Class” performance by promoting continuous improvement and benchmarking Strategies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science with ten  years related Nuclear power plant experience -OR- Associate’s degree in Engineering or Science with 12 years of related Nuclear power plant experience -OR- High school diploma or equivalent with 14 years related Nuclear power plant experience.
  • Seven years previous supervisory experience.
  • Preferred that currently have or previously held an SRO license.
