Description:

The McLain Group represents a client, a leader in the commercial nuclear power industry, with an immediate need for a nuclear power plant Director, Nuclear Engineering.  Our client offers competitive compensation, excellent benefits and promotes the development and success of their employees.

Drive overall strategic direction and deployment of continuous improvement throughout Nuclear Engineering. Develops operational vision and establishes strategic direction for functions within Nuclear Engineering.

Responsibilities:

  • Broad, cross functional scope. The integrating point for diverse, cross functional and or complex functions, operations and processes.
  • Full financial operating accountability.
  • Long-range, strategic focus.
  • Translates strategy into broad direction, operating vision and outcomes.
  • Manages the organization and ensures goals are aligned with the strategic plan of plant and company.
  • Directs and prioritizes the activities of the management team from different cross-functional organizational units.
  • Responsible for the operating plans and budgets of all Nuclear Engineering processes.
  • Responsible for providing overall direction, and implementation of various process improvement tools and methodology that support plant’s needs.
  • Provides opportunities for continuous learning and development to organization employees and attracts and retains new talent to the organization.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • Ten plus years of experience in nuclear power plant design/construction/operation or maintenance applicable Navy nuclear experience equally acceptable including experiences in project management and/or leadership position.
  • Must meet the regulatory requirements per plant procedures which includes:
    • Minimum of 8 years in responsible positions, of which at least 1 year shall be nuclear power plant experience
    • Maximum of 4 years of the remaining 7 years should be fulfilled by satisfactory completion of academic training
  • Security screening and drug testing is required for access.
  • Physical capability to work in the plant i.e. climb stairs, work in hot environment, work in radiation/contamination areas.
