The Project Engineer coordinates customer contract requirements with internal and external organizations to create top quality custom fabricated componentry used in the Nuclear Power Industry.


  • Review of customer source control drawings, specification control drawings and other applicable specifications to determine critical to quality requirements and overall manufacturing feasibility of the component.
  • Prepare input parameters for preliminary ASME design and contract proposals.
  • Coordinate with internal organizations to define and solve manufacturing and design issues to meet customer and ASME Code requirements.
  • Create and review design and shop manufacturing drawing packages instrumental in fabricating custom Nuclear components.
  • Manage and build current bill of materials and shop work instructions.
  • Work with the Quality department to define problem areas and develop process/product improvements based on customer concerns.
  • Participate in engineering and general design review of Nuclear projects.
  • Refine and complete component designs after design review meetings.
  • Prepare and review technical data such as qualification test procedures, design specifications, shop calculations, acceptance test procedures, reports, component non-conformances, etc.
  • Interact with the customer to develop accurate engineering design documents and resolve any questions/concerns they may have.
  • Support the operations throughout the fabrication process by interacting with shop personnel and answering any questions in a timely manner.
  • Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions.
  • Employee may work near moving mechanical parts
  • Employee will be exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, fumes and odors.  


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
  • 1-5 years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prior experience working to ASME or TEMA Requirements is preferred, but not required.
  • A passion to begin a career in the unique Nuclear Power Industry.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents of a technical nature.
  • Proficient in the use of computer assisted drafting (CAD) equipment and software.  AutoDesk Inventor preferred.
  • Able to apply Engineering and Manufacturing principles to a wide range of applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead people and get results.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple projects of varying complexity.
  • Participate in employee training exercises and skills development opportunities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong team player.
  • Familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite of programs. (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, Project and Outlook)
  • Ability to utilize available resources effectively to solve problems.
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of people.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Self-Directed and highly organized.
