Responsible to determine, set, direct, implement and measure the strategic and innovative direction of the nuclear portfolio. The focus will be to increase the value of the nuclear fleet by improving productivity, efficiency and effectiveness through short and long term strategies and innovation utilizing digital technology and data, while assuring the safe, reliable, progressive and efficient operation of the nuclear plants within the constraints of applicable Innovation group, Regulatory Affairs, Licensing, Business Planning and the Business Transformation group and their related programs.


• Continuous improvement and optimization of the nuclear portfolio. Includes enhancement of work streams, technological advancements to create efficiencies and driving continuous cost effectiveness.
• Provide stakeholder communications such as INPO, NRC, Public Utility Commission, and the Corporation. Review documents that represent the site to external stakeholders for completeness and accuracy. Maintain industry expertise and review new technology, best practices, emerging trends and / or regulation changes and develop strategies for the fleet.
• Provide direction and oversight of responsible functions to achieve corporate objectives. Advise Nuclear Executive Management on recommended strategies. Create, implement and maintain nuclear strategies which provide continuous improvement and cost savings while meeting corporate business objectives for nuclear.
• Coaching and mentoring General Managers, Directors and supervisors to fully assess and resolve problems and decision-making approaches in a manner that effectively transfers knowledge.
• Implementation of strategic change management workforce initiatives. Anticipate personnel and organizational impacts and execute plans to proactively remove barriers.
• Perform emergency preparedness role including participating, training, mentoring, controlling and maintaining qualification and proficiency.ry to perform required group function.


• Bachelor’s degree or degree in a recognized engineering or scientific field generally associated with power production.
• Or in lieu of the technical degree a business degree coupled with a minimum of 15 years of nuclear power production experience with progressive levels of leadership responsibility and accountability may be substituted for the degree.
• In addition to a related technical degree, the position requires 10 years of responsible power plant experience, to which a minimum of three years must be nuclear power plant experience.
• Nuclear power plant operations or maintenance experience and a Senior Reactor Operator’s License or SRO Certification is preferred.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills necessary.
• Strong understanding of financial and regulatory issues and proficient with presentation and computer skills.
• Experience interacting with executives and executive level industry management on business issues is preferred.
